Dawn Clayden is an Auckland based ceramicist living in Mangawhai. She graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Design. This lead into a Master of Design by Project, graduating in 2014. Prior and during studying she worked for Morris & James Pottery.
Her work draws upon traditional hand-making skills, sculpting and mould making combined with her love of design and craft. She is known for her intricate and masterful porcelain vases with cascading flowers, sculptures and tableware that are detailed with real gold. Each piece she makes is one off and unique.
