Run by artist Jane Galloway and displaying work from New Zealand artists and artisans
Living in the small King Country settlement of Piopio provides Jo with rich visual and personal influences.
She works primarily as a contemporary realist painter, but more recently has begun to also add humour into her compositions. Using native birds and animals as both object and subject enables Jo to voice her interest in the idiosyncratic and distinctive world we live in. She says "The characters I feel best able to represent, the fun there is to be had with language, symbolism and entrenched beliefs are all present in my current body of work."
